LA Publicist Takes Advantage of Delicious Food at Affordable Prices

What seems like once in a blue moon, the LA restaurant industry decides to befriend the young, broke and fabulous, such as yours truly and the other ladies here at Konnect PR. This past week marked week one of dineLA Restaurant Week. Amazing restaurants all over the city create tasty three course menus at a set price encouraging locals to try a new or return to a favorite restaurant. This is  the perfect opportunity for a Los Angeles public relations professional to check out some new fabulous places in order to keep a finger on the pulse of LA.

So far, I have tried one new restaurant with an amazing view, alright food and not so good service. I was supposed to try a place I have been dying to try, Waterloo & City, but unfortunately had to cancel because of a fellow slammed PR professional. Next week, I am having a girls night at Mercato di Vetro and while I have been there once before, have been craving some of their delicious signature dishes since my visit.

Whether you’re a foodie or just hungry, there is some seriously good food at even more serious prices just waiting for you. Go ahead- you still have one week! Enjoy!

Happy Friday the 13th!

This LA publicist is a tad bit ashamed to admit to you that she didn’t even realize it was Friday the 13th till about two seconds ago. But I guess that’s what happens when your pr agency is always working hard and busy handling all their wonderful clients! =)

Anywho, as we prepared for our morning news blast meeting, I came across an article about Friday ( now that I know its the 13th I get why there is an article about Friday) and how we might  be in for one heck of a year. As I continued reading I learned that 2012 has an overdose of Friday the 13th’s. According to an article in USA Today every year has at least one but never more than three. And 2012 has Today,  April 13th, AND July 13th, which means we have defiantly maxed out 2012.

Now is this lucky? Is this unlucky? I say, you yourself has to be the judge of that matter. Historically, Friday the 13th bad luck tradition or “superstition” dates back to the fact that Christ was crucified on a Friday and the Last Supper included 13 men. Historical and religious matters aside, socially now Friday the 13th ranges from super lucky gambling day to watch out for black cats and ladders.

My outlook on this day is well… its just a day. And as long as you remember that, I believe it can be just as fun, lucky, or unlucky as you make it. For me, I was just happy it was Friday!!!

New Year, New Ideas, New Clients!

2012 is bring a lot of exciting things to this pr agency. We are starting the new year with new ideas, new employees and new clients!

One client which I have started working on is Babiators, a line of pint-size aviators for babies and children! This is one of those clients that when anyone sees it they have an instantaneous reaction of “awww”. The Konnect PR girls sure experienced this when we got a shipment of samples sent to our office. After checking out the samples and having continuous aww’s throughout the office, we all discussed about buying pairs for nieces, nephews, cousins and obviously wishing we had our own kids just so we could put a pair of these sunglasses on them!

These peepers sure put a big smile on our faces!

The Bright, Encouraging Color of 2012 is…..

Tangerine Tango!!

Now I know what your thinking, “There are “it” colors announced yearly?!” I was just as surprised and thought the same thing, hence why I decided to dig a little further into this matter. What I found out was that there is a group known as the Patone Color Institute.  Their experts fill their work days  looking for color influences in various industries, using trend forecasting, and a little bit of psychology to understand whats resonating beneath this. Then colors are picked up from film, fashion, technology, popular travel spots, art, etc.

Tangerine Tango, the radiant red orange color was picked in hopes to provide an energy boost needed to re-charge and move forward into 2012, and is reported to have a bold impact on fasion runways and home decor world wide.  A Patone Institute color specialist even further quoted that “Tangerine Tango is hopeful and optomistic, marrying the vivaciousness and adreline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow.” I think that’s alot of hope to put into just one color, but as I further browsed the internet for images for this color, I found myself hooked and a little too happy to purchase certain items in this color. Take a look at a few options in this mood up-lifting “It” color of 2012!!!

New Year, New Us

The girls of Konnect PR headed out of our sunny LA public relations office over the holidays to snowy Tahoe to celebrate a year filled with press, press and more press!  While we bonded over snow sports and board games, we made sure to rest up and come home to our pr agency rejuvenated and with big ideas.  We greeted the 80 degree weather and the new year with two new, talented additions to our dedicated team here at Konnect, Genelyn and Rachel.  We are all so excited to welcome them to this LA public relations office and thrilled to make 2012 an epic year for Konnect and for all our amazing clients.

Happy Holidays!!

This Public relations agency would like to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all of you!! As we come to our last couple of days before Christmas and the second day of Hanukkah, this PR agency is in full celebration mode. All of course while we still work hard to make sure everything runs smoothly into the new year!

For this LA publicist, its her last day in the office before she flies back home east. So today we are finally holding our most anticipated Secret Santa. About a month ago we all drew names out of a mug and have all held in who we picked. We will all meet over delicious holiday snacks and open our presents later this evening, and  I could not be more excited.
