Springing into Salads
May 17, 2012 4:59pmHappy Thursday to one and all! The day is winding down in this public relations firm. For the past week the California weather has been marvelous! Warm and not a cloud in the sky! Like many of you, I like to match my diet with the current season, and this Spring time weather calls for fresh Spring time salads!
Working in Social Media, I spend a good chuck of my time surfing the net for enticing articles that relate to our health and fitness clients, as well as clients who focus on veganism and going organic. Through my internet travels I discovered a great piece entitled 101 Simple Salads For the Season by The New York Times. To my dismay, the article dates back a few summers so it wasn’t the most useful to post, however, that doesn’t mean I couldn’t get a little inspiration from it! The article goes on to list 101 delectable salads piled high with fresh fruits and veggies, among other healthy treats (pine nuts, jicama, you name it!). I made a list of sorts, picking out a few of my favorite vegetarian/vegan options, and made my way to the local market. It was there I fell into a tizzy surrounded by all the nutritious goodness, and basically purchased anything I thought would make for a great salad (kale!). For the past few days I have been enjoying homemade salads for lunch and dinner, which is nutritious and also great for beach season which is approaching/upon us. Eating fresh food keeps me feeling healthy and energized; the reasons to eat nutrient rich foods are endless! I hope this inspired you to jump on the health food band wagon with me! At least until beach season is over..

Serious case of the Monday’s.
May 14, 2012 5:45pmPhew what a Monday! I safely landed back on the west coast late last night and its the 1st day back since my mini break, and let me tell you I am one tired LA publicist.
Here over at Konnect PR we are gaining new clients and getting amazing press like no others! As I try to play catch up and settle back into the work routine I cant help but think of what a huge relief that this week we finally get our new summer interns! All the girls are psyched to have extra hands to help. Me, I’m just excited to finally meet all the people that I spoke with for months and put faces to these PR driven smart ladies. Our office might get a little more crowded and hectic, so get ready to hear their stories as they blog about their days and experiences!!
Le sigh….It only seems like so long ago that I was once a young intern. Funny how time fly’s isn’t it?
(Interns…you ready for this mess???)
Hoping all of you have a great week!!

Adventures on Ellen!
May 11, 2012 5:59pmToday has been an exciting day for this public relations firm and our clients. Yesterday, two of our baby clients Babiators and Ubbi were featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show Mother’s Day segment which aired today! It also happened to be one of our very talented LA publicists birthday yesterday, so it was a very special treat for her to go to the set of Ellen and witness her and the firm’s hard work pay off.
Nick Cannon was a guest on the show, and discussed how Babiators are both fashionable and durable. They even showed a picture of his son Roc, wearing a pair! Adorable!
Not to mention the whole studio audience of mommies received a pair; Among a ton of other great baby treats! You can check out what else happened on the show, and Babiators’ and Ubbi’s features here! It is time to wind down for the day, we hope you all have a great weekend!

Every Publicist’s Best Friend: Chocolate
May 10, 2012 3:25pmThis morning the Konnect PR team had the pleasure of having an amazing chocolate fudge cake accompanied by a refreshing glass of milk at 10:30AM. Yes, you heard me right, 10:30AM! Chocolate helps everyone get through the day, especially us fellow LA publicists, who have to be on top of our game 24/7.
However, there was a reason behind this scrumptious cake this morning as it was Konnect’s own, Jenne LaManna’s birthday!!! Here is a little snap shot of our birthday girl enjoying her cake!
On another note, tomorrow is Friday! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to sit by my pool and relax. Also, I am lucky enough to have my pool at my apartment complex always in tip-top shape thanks to my amazing client, VivoPools!

A Day of Traditions
May 8, 2012 11:51amThis Sunday marks the day of celebrations for Mom’s all over the world. No matter if it’s your mom, step-mom, grandma, someone else’s mom for all I care, make sure to take the extra time Sunday to show that mom figure in your life that she really matters!
I know I wouldn’t be where I am today and who I am today without my Mom. She’s the best woman I know and I am very excited that I get to spend this holiday with her back home on the east coast. Yes, this LA publicist jets off to NY at midnight tonight to go spend a little mini vacation at home till Sunday. YAY! =)
Although I will be one busy bee, I already know what my Sunday/Mother’s day agenda consists of because at my house it’s a day of traditions. Every Mother’s day since I can remember our day has gone the same and it’s really something that I think every Mom and Daughter combo would enjoy.
1. Start the morning off with pancakes! My mom and I thoroughly enjoy banana and walnut, but my Dad has been known to throw one…or 10 chocolate chips in them as well.
2. Flower picking: We usually head to our favorite greenhouse by home and pick multiple flowers to place and pot around the house. They brighten our home and our day!
3. Shopping…well that just goes without saying. Every Mom deserves a present on her day…and while your at so do you!
4. And then end the evening at one of our favorite out door restaurants with the whole fam.
Now I can’t say every mom would love this plan, but I hope you all have great traditions or fun ways to spend with your Mom on her day. And to every Mom out there; this LA public relations company wishes you one upcoming Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!

LA Publicist Says “You Had Me At Hello … Kitty”
May 4, 2012 3:58pmI am just one of the LA publicists here at Konnect Public Relations Agency who has a special penchant for the nostalgic furry character, Hello Kitty. So to my surprise, I was over the moon when I found out about the Eva Airlines X Hello Kitty-themed Airbus A330-300 aircrafts now boarding and flying between cities including Taipei, Fukuoka, Narita, Sapparo, Incheon, Hong Kong and Guam! Hello Kitty is completely prominent among all aspects of the flight — boarding pass, check-in counters, food, dessert, pillows and utensils.
Scroll down to peek at all the Hello Kitty details that people of all ages can fly to enjoy!
My bags are packed (in a HK luggage of course!) and ready for liftoff! Raise you hand if you are interested in taking a trip with me and Hello Kitty?
xx Kim
