Hello to May and Mother’s Day!

May 3, 2012 5:32pm

The first week of May is coming to an end, and with Mother’s Day approaching this public relations firm has been in non-stop work mode. We are very excited for our multiple clients who will be taking part of the Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower NYC event! If you are attending make sure to look out for BabySpa USA, Ubbi World, ERGObaby and TeetheMe. We are also more than thrilled about  another client, Babiators, who will be featured on a very popular daytime television show next week! We’ll be sure to go into more details soon. For now, things are still in preparation mode.

A Bittersweet Friday

April 27, 2012 4:47pm

When I say bittersweet, there is definitely a pun intended. Although our lunch break included delicious macaroons and other sweets from our beloved downtown dessert destination Bottega Louie, it was not without reason. Today is the last day for Gyna, an account coordinator in the Food and Beverage Division here at Konnect PR. We are sad to see her go, but we wanted to celebrate the time she has spent as an LA publicist, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

Friday is always a good time to reflect back on the week. Yesterday a few of us ventured to the headquarters of our newest client,  Lakeshore Learning Materials to achieve a full understanding of what they do and how they do it. We spoke with many employees in various departments including development, software, and retail, and even received a tour of their out of this world distribution center! With winding conveyer belts and stairways we felt like we were in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Sans the chocolate waterfall, unfortunately. Also, some of our LA publicists were sure to make a little note to self: Stilettos and factories are not the best combo.

We wrapped up our day with a tour of their onsite daycare, which really emphasized everything Lakeshore stands for. Quality, safety, and the overall well being of children are of great importance to them, and we can’t wait to work alongside them to even further their success as a company. We are all very excited!

This public relations firm is starting to wind down for the day. I wish everyone a great and safe weekend, it’s supposed to be lovely!

Baby Fever!

April 26, 2012 4:11pm

It will almost be a month now that I have worked at Konnect PR and I am enjoying every minute of it! I especially love being a part of the Baby & Children’s Division because now I get to look at baby related things all day and, most importantly, I am on top of all the latest baby trends to grace the industry including the hottest skin care lines and products.

While perusing the baby news today, I came across the CUTEST story ever about a two-year old boy, who without his mothers knowledge, left the house to go visit his sick grandmother in the hospital. Taking his backpack (filled with treats), he hopped on his tricycle and left home. Three miles later, he was discovered by the police and his only concern was how much farther it was to the hospital. He then blamed his tricycle for not having a GPS to guide him there faster!

The story would not be complete, if I did not include the adorable gear the tot was wearing!

Now if only he had a cool pair of shades to top off his outfit!

That’s all from this LA publicist!

Cleary! To be perfectly honest, we LOVE our pregnant celebrity mommies out there. How about we just send one big congratulatory shout-out to the newest Hollywood moms instead? Ok, you’ve convinced me. And seeing as every day someone new is pregnant; let’s just extend this congrats to them as well ;)

LA publicist takes a moment to appreciate the small things in life.

April 24, 2012 6:15pm

If you tuned into last weeks post, you know that one of our great la publicists had  informed you all of her love for  babies. And while this topic might be more relevant, as here at Konnect PR we represent  many adorable baby products…I think my love for these small creatures is just as justified.

Meet Beyonce. This little pup has no relations to the pop diva/artist, but holds the record at being the smallest puppy (and yes that is an actual iphone 3..come on people,  it wasn’t that long ago that they still existed). Beyonce is a female dachshund  born March 8th weighing in at just 1 ounce! Her story of unlikely survival has captured the attention of people all over the world, and to be honest my heart!

Don’t get me wrong parents. Your children are very cute.  Babies are precious miracles.  Your photo shop skills and capturing moments on camera  are impressive and without a doubt better than anything I could create.  But show me a picture of a tiny dog…and its over. They will win every time and ALL the time.

An LA publicist on the art of Photoshop

April 20, 2012 5:11pm

Just to preface – I love babies! No not in a weird and creepy way, but there is just something about little fingers and toes, non-existent knee caps and not to mention little clothing/accessories that makes it hard not to smile.

Now, since I have been working in the baby/children’s division, I have been notorious to be the one in the office messaging my co-workers pictures of little babies, whether it is in adorable clothing/accessories, making funny faces, or well basically anything.

This morning, I came across yet another link that I had to share throughout the office, especially to Kim as I have been making a  list of her “children”. Not really HER children, but what her future children are bound to look like. This particular post was about this dad who took some incredibly creative photos of his two daughters. Now I know my Photoshop skills are sub-par compared to this guy, but for the purpose of these pictures, I really hope that some of them are real and not just photoshopped!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
