My First Blog Post at Konnect PR!

April 19, 2012 5:43pm

Greetings from this Los Angeles public relation firm’s newest employee!  I’m Shannon, the new social media assistant here at Konnect Public Relations. I am currently right in the midst of my second week on the job, and I am happily settling in and finding my groove. I’ll admit, familiarizing myself with multiple clients as well as updating all of their social media while getting to know all the girls was a little intimidating at first. Now almost finishing up my second week, I can juggle multiple clients and have found out exactly how to moderate my time. One of the perks of working in social media is always being in the know. With clients ranging from baby gear, to cookware, to vegan snacks, I definitely can say I have gained a plethora of knowledge.

One client has been particularly beneficial to research in regards to a current “situation” or problem, I’ve been facing. A new job can be stressful, not to mention driving in LA traffic on a daily basis, and being a 20-something new to Los Angeles. I don’t know about you, but when I stress, my skin hates me for it. Luckily for me the BeWell Expo is coming to Los Angeles in September, and you can bet I’ve been picking up on some great skin care tips and product suggestions while marketing for them. I can’t wait for the actual event!

Skin issues aside, I am elated to be working for a public relations agency like Konnect PR.  Everyone has been more than welcoming, and it is so refreshing to share creative ideas with like-minded people on a daily basis. I am extremely excited for what lies ahead. You will definitely be hearing more from me. Did I mention the window behind my desk is a lovely 6th story view of the Downtown Los Angeles city-scape? However, I believe it is the view from the front of my desk that is more worth mentioning..

An LA Publicist’s Thanksgiving

November 28, 2011 6:21pm

This LA Publicist’s Thanksgiving consisted of nothing from the exception including eating, spending time with family and relaxing. While we try to stay as traditional with the thanksgiving customs, my family, like most of our pr agency, brings its cultural flair to the mix. No Thanksgiving of ours is complete without a small touch of the ethnic Indian flavor, this year in form of a Garbanzo Bean salad!

This year I spent the weekend in Arizona, a long-standing tradition we have with our family friends (going on 20 years to be exact!), and while we were missing a few family members, it was still pretty awesome! Everything from the food, to staying up until 3:00 just catching up, to uncontrollable laughter, I would call it a pretty successful Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

7 days left and counting until this LA publicist’s favorite holiday of the year. Every year I look forward to Thanksgiving because it is that wonderful time of year when I get to spend quality time with my family and enjoy tons of delicious food. We are even having our own little Thanksgiving feast here at Konnect PR and we are planning to go all out with a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce and sparkling apple cider.

Everyone here at Konnect PR wishes you a…

LA Publicist Cracks UP…Literally

November 10, 2011 5:59pm

One of our daily tasks working at a pr agency is to research media outlets and find potential features that would be a good fit for our clients. While I was busy working on this task, I came across something that I felt obliged to share with everyone here at Konnect PR.

Want to know what made everyone at this pr agency go “AWWWWW!” See for yourself….

Isn’t this the cutest picture ever!!? Not only does it mention one of my favorite Pixar movies of all time, “Up,” but the little boy in this picture is a spitting image of the old man, Carl, from the movie (except about 70 years younger). This LA publicist absolutely loves this picture! So much so, that whenever I am having a down moment, I pull up this picture and I crack a smile.

LA Publicist Is So Excited For Sweet Leaf Tea’s Cap-Off Contest

September 29, 2011 5:10pm

There’s only a few weeks left to vote for your favorite bottle cap Grannyism in Sweet Leaf Tea’s contest called “The Great Grannyism Cap-Off Contest.” To enter to win, contestants must write their own clever Grannyism (just make sure it’s Granny-approved) and submit it via Sweet Leaf Tea’s Granny’s Almanac website at www.sweetleafalmanac.com. Not only does this SWEET contest give you a chance to win a year’s worth of Sweet Leaf Tea, but you can also win some cool prizes via the “Sweet Deal Forecaster” where you can unlock exclusive offers when your city reaches a certain temperature.

So don’t wait any longer and submit your Grannyism today. This LA Publicist can’t wait to find out who the lucky winner is!

Good luck fellow Grannyism writers!
