An LA Publicist Joins The Team At Konnect Public Relations
August 25, 2011 5:04pmNew to the Konnect Public Relations scene, I am just finishing up my first month at this Los Angeles public relations agency and so far so good!
Every day presents a new adventure around the office with everything from walls being knocked down, new furniture arriving, interns leaving after a long summer and interns just stepping into the pr agency world and then there were the internet woes. There is also the excitement of the big Nautica Malibu Triathlon around the corner and new clients being signed left and right.
As for me, this LA publicist is enjoying the ride and I can’t wait to see what amazing media happenings lie ahead.
Check out Los Angeles Magazine’s coverage of the Nautica Malibu Triathlon below:

K Hotels’ Hotel Diva is the perfect San Francisco Treat
July 12, 2011 10:48amHeading to San Francisco this summer? One of the main areas visitors stay is Union Square, as it is centrally located and is walking distance to tons of shopping, restaurants and nightlife. One of the great things about working for a pr agency, you can find out about tons of great places to stay even outside of LA.
Such is the case of one mom who was visiting the San Francisco area covered on Hollywood Hot Moms. She stayed at K Hotels’ Hotel Diva and she loved it!

A PR agency is where I belong
June 24, 2011 2:57pmAs I finish up my third week as an intern at Konnect PR, I am able to sit back and reflect on how much I have learned during my time here and imagine how much more is still to come throughout the rest of the summer. I came all the way across the country from Boston to spend the summer as an aspiring LA publicist, but I could never begin to comprehend the depths to which working in a pr agency would take me.
I have to admit that I was nervous entering the office on my first day. I was so far from home, didn’t know what to expect, and kept thinking what if public relations isn’t for me? Well now I can tell you for sure, that this industry is where I belong. Everyone in the office couldn’t be more welcoming and eager to teach me the ropes of this pr agency. Seeing everyone’s constant smiles, my nerves quickly slipped away and I was able to get down to work.
What gets me most excited about coming to work is that I know there will always be assignments to keep me busy. There is nothing worse than working at a job with nothing to do except watch the minutes tick away, and I know that will never happen here. So far I have expanded my Photoshop skills and found that I actually really enjoy it when it used to be my worst nightmare and my stalking skills are so up to par at this point that I’m pretty sure I can find contact information for any name given to me.
It is blowing my mind how quickly the summer is flying by and it will be over before I know it, so as I sit in this office, I want to take advantage of every opportunity I have to learn. In the short time I’ve been here, Konnect PR has already given me so much insight to the industry and has proven to me that public relations is where I want to work for the rest of my life.

LA publicist incorporates stress-relieving practices
June 9, 2011 5:22pmWorking at a LA public relations agency means interacting with the press on the a daily basis and juggling multiple tasks at once. This also means LOTS of stress. As much as I love being a LA publicist, the stress can get to high levels which is why it’s so important to utilize convenient and easy stress relieving techniques, and in my case, products.
One product that helps reduce anxiety is Be Happy, a 2 oz drink that has natural ingredients to help the feelings of stress. Be Happy also appears in this month’s Vitamin Retailer Magazine in the New Products Round Up.

LA Publicists LOVE AOL Small Business!
May 24, 2011 1:09pmAs most everyone knows, social media has completely infiltrated every day life and is here to stay. With this additional and still somewhat uncharted territory avenue of communication, it is imperative that small businesses begin to utilize social media channels to communicate directly with their customers.
Check out what Jeff Platt, CEO of Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, has to say about how useful social media is to small businesses.
