PR Agency and Social Media

May 24, 2011 5:57pm

Social media has made a strong impression on the world, and the Associated Press Stylebook has also made updates to its book to keep up with the growing phenomenon. And I must add that I learned about the update via social media.

The AP Stylebook is used throughout the world of editors and we work at a pr agency who works closely with editors. The 2011 guide book is now available with social media terms such as unfollow, stream and link shortener included.

I must add that we love social media at our LA public relations agency and happy about the updates :)

Also don’t forget to follow us on Twitter :)

LA Publicist on Looking to Social Media for News

May 10, 2011 6:30pm

From catching up with friends on Facebook, to tweeting about a sale or even blogging about an amazing restaurant someone went to this past Saturday, social media is a huge part of many people’s lives. This world of social media is not only a part of personal lives, but work as well! Here at our LA public relations agency we constantly utilize social media for our clients.

People also look to social media as a place to get their news! It’s easy to take a quick look at your phone’s twitter app and find out what’s going on in the world while waiting in line. Recently, I came across an article on how Facebook is one of the largest drivers of traffic to the top five news websites. Wow! I know I catch up on the latest news from my social media phone apps….do you?

Interactive Facebook’ers Make a Difference

March 22, 2011 5:51pm

So what do Manchester United, Justin Bieber and Glee have in common?
At our pr agency we love Facebook and social media! One of the many great pr tools used to interact with audiences, fans, customers of brands, businesses, celebrities, etc…(the list can go on) is to have a Facebook page. Aside from just to have a page, it is important to stay active and engage with fans. At our LA public relations agency, social media is on high importance of our list of tasks to accomplish daily.
Recently I came across an article on how to measure engagement on Facebook. This does not necessarily mean that you are on top if you have a large amount of fans, but rather to have a higher engagement rate of Facebook’ers on your page.
Below is a list from Wired News of the Top Engaged Facebook Pages:

Lady Gaga’s Contributions to Japan

March 15, 2011 6:50pm

Every morning before I drive in to our Los Angeles public relations agency, I tune in to the morning news to get updated information on the tragic earthquake in Japan. When disasters like this occur, I always wonder how I can make a difference? With that in mind, I came across a few articles about how Lady Gaga raised $250,000 in a time frame of 48 hours for victims in Japan. Utilizing Lady Gaga’s Twitter and website, she sold $5 bracelets that read “We pray for Japan” in both English and Japanese. It’s always amazing to see how social media spreads the news of people coming together to help in such a fast amount of time. Our thoughts are with those in Japan.
