End of an Era!
December 8, 2010 5:23pmAside from the usual awesomeness of the Konnect PR offices, today is a sad day – it’s my last day as a Konnect Intern!
Yes, I still cannot believe the semester is over and so is my time here. I’m going to skip the sappy “what I learned and what I’m going to miss” long blog post, but I will say the experience has been incredibly entertaining. The Konnect girls are all unique in their own ways. I’m grateful to Kendra for expanding my musical tastes to long hip-hop albums (totally downloaded “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” this week), Monica for sharing the good ol’ days of Trojan football, Alison for being the ultimate pop culture junkie I aspire to be and Sabina for being brilliant yet completely indescribable.
Now that I’m moving on, I’m excited for the future and know I’m leaving Konnect a 1000x more qualified candidate.

Presentations
November 19, 2010 5:17pmSo this week, I interviewed Kendra and Sabina for background information for my term paper/presentation in a PR class. Another great thing about having enthusiastic employers is that they are always willing to help you out. On Wednesday we brainstormed some (awesome) ideas and it’s going to be pretty legendary. My assignment is to sell Konnect to my peers, which I’m pretty confident will turn out well

Overheard at Konnect PR
November 17, 2010 4:47pm“L.A. is its own beast. It’ll swallow you up.” – Kendra
Moving from south Texas to Los Angeles over two years ago, I had no idea what to expect. Here I was, an 18-year-old overachieving nerd from a small city 10 minutes from Mexico moving 1,600 miles away from home. While living on-campus at ‘SC definitely made the transition smoother, I had a pretty epic culture shock. Literally, the plane ride to L.A. had the most Asians I had ever seen, and I AM half-Asian.
Undoubtedly, I had to learn how to do a lot of things on my own. I had to learn how to cook and wash clothes after the schlock laundry service ruined mine. I had to get a job for the first time. While it took me a while to tame the beast, I’ve grown so much since then. I can now take the freeway without freaking out, go to an interview with confidence, see a celebrity without actin’ a star-struck fool. Now that I am in the second half of undergrad, I really look forward to what the future holds here in this city. PR can be just as cutthroat, but you have to learn that if either of them try to swallow you up, make them choke!

What one can do with a Flip…
October 22, 2010 2:47pmI’ve been promising everyone to actually use my Flip and take some fun shots of Konnect PR so everyone can see where we spend most of our day- and by that i mean- 12 hours or more (remember- the glam life of a publicist….)
With that said, check out the really unprofessional video below- notice the press boards (we’re very proud of them) and the pink walls (we’re proud of those too).
- not to mention my MAD editing skills- some people should stick to what they’re good at

Meet Susan, the amazing Konnect PR intern
October 13, 2010 2:27pmTo give you an inside look into our daily office lives at Konnect PR, we thought we would start a series of blog posts that give a voice to some of our most valuable team members: our interns. Today we introduce Susan, a fantastic and smart junior from USC.

My professors always like to remind us how important internships are and how “if you don’t have one, then you better get one.” My experiences confirm just how invaluable they really are.
PR is a very hands-on major/career and there are some things you just can’t learn in a classroom. I like to think interning at Konnect is halfway between a job and another class. I get to learn about the industry from the inside, and will most definitely take my knowledge with me at my next internship or future job. My assignments involve assisting throughout the entire PR process and getting exposed to real-world clients. Instead of a classroom case study, I get to examine the real deal ![]()
