Expo West Success!
March 14, 2011 6:31pmThis past weekend Shonte, Sabina and I had the privilege of assisting our clients Sweet Leaf Tea and Rhythm Superfoods as they exhibited at the Natural Products Expo West trade show. A gathering of the best the natural products world has to offer (everything from food to beauty, lifestyle items and more) we feel so honored as a pr agency to be able to work with two such amazing companies and to be able to actually see them and take part in such a crucial part of their business.
As Sweet Leaf Tea sampled their tasty drinks and showcased their new packaging (along with the delicious Tradewinds brand of drinks), Rhythm Superfoods showcased their newly designed packaging and sampled their new Kale Chip flavors and brand new Sweet Potato Chips. We are happy to report that both brands were a hit at the show! With products just as lovely as the team behind them, this is anything but a surprise for us here at Konnect PR
Below take a peek at a couple of cool photos from the show courtesy of Rama Images.

Sweet Leaf Tea presents “South By Sweet Spot”
March 10, 2011 5:49pmIt is no secret that South By Southwest (SXSW) is soon approaching, and while for me that just means keeping up with all of the coverage via my computer here in Los Angeles, for Austin-ites and those lucky enough to be attending, it means exposure to amazing music and an all-around great time. As if the music and lively spirit of Austin were not enough, our client Sweet Leaf Tea has decided to sweeten up the deal with a cool interactive campaign called South By Sweet Spot.

Using the popular technology (and fellow Austin-based company) Gowalla, music and tea-lovers can check in at a variety of “Sweet Spots” around Austin throughout the festival to win some exclusive prizes. Upon checking in, users will be notified that they have arrived at a Sweet Spot and will be automatically entered to win a number of cool swag, including: one of 150 limited edition South By Sweet Spot t-shirts, a SWEET care package with teac, a t-shirt and some Stubb’s BBQ sauce and marinade. Three of the Sweet Spots will even enter users to win a Sweet Leaf Tea backyard bbq for them and 20 of their friends! As if this all was not enough, Gowalla will also be tossing out 2,000 virtual cans for pick up across town.

Really fun and user friendly, this is just another way to enjoy SXSW! To enter to win be sure to check out the below Sweet Spots throughout the festival. Also make sure to be on the lookout for the Sweet Leaf Tea roaming van which also happens to be an entry place.

Mobile PR
December 8, 2010 9:17amAs a publicist, there is not one second of your day when you are not connected to the news, your clients, or the media. Our job is to always be a mobile source of information to best serve our clients and see where they fit into the continuous stream of news. The reason I bring this up is because for the last few days Sabina and I have been in Austin, Texas, conducting meetings with our clients based here and planning for 2011. While some may think that being in a different city, in a different state, out of the office, may lead to a disconnectedness with our work and clients, they would be wrong. In addition to the obvious BlackBerry and iPhone (which are hooked up to our e-mail and the internet) we have also set up a miniature satellite office in my hotel room, complete with laptops and iPad’s, and have carried on with the usual pitching, conference calls, interviews, etc. Today there is no reason to be disconnected and the fact that I am typing away on my laptop from a hotel room desk while Sabina is sitting on the bed, iPad in hand and currently on the phone is a testament to the fact that public relations is part of a non-stop work cycle… or at least it should be.

Le Posh Yoga opening
November 8, 2010 11:03amSince it seems I am on a roll this morning, I’m going to talk about something I’ve been meaning to – since Friday.
Last Thursday we had the opening for Le Posh Yoga in Hollywood. And it was a total success.
We had 5 PM, 6 PM and 7 PM free yoga classes, snacks provided by 18 Rabbits and Pop Chips and uber healthy organic drinks by Sweet Leaf Tea and O.N.E.
Everyone had a blast trying out the classes, especially McKenna Rowe’s Focus and Flow.
Even more exciting, the 5 PM class had the pleasure of welcoming the awesome Angie Stewart - who teaches her Runner’s Yoga at Lululemon in Beverly Hills.
All yogis had the chance to shop the awesome Nux athletic wear with a 25% discount.
All in all, the event was a success. Classes are in full swing right now, so if you live nearby, check them out.
xoxo
Sabina
